Jimmy Miller MA, Chartered MCIPD | Founder and Managing Director of Vianet Learning Ltd
Jimmy Miller is a learning and development specialist with over twenty years’ development experience. Amongst his many learning and development qualifications, Jimmy has a Master’s degree in Strategic Human Resource specialising in learning and development, a Human Resources degree and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Jimmy had a successful sales and management career working in Retail Banking, Asset Finance and Insurance and the Motor Industry. He received accolades and rewards culminating in the award for United Dominions Trust Salesman of the Year. United Dominions Trust was one of the UK’s largest Financial Institutions.
After working in managerial and developmental roles Jimmy displayed a natural aptitude for training. In the training environment Jimmy found himself to be a “round peg in a round hole” and embarked on his learning and development career in 1997.
Jimmy attended many “train the trainer” training courses which helped expand and reinforce his training abilities and stimulated a thirst for academic success to mirror his increasing experience. Whilst providing training facilities in the financial sector from Human Resource training to Management Development then providing Sales Training facilities to external fee-paying customers he studied relentlessly. As well as acquiring formal training qualifications, Jimmy earned his Human Resources Management Degree, post-graduate qualifications in Learning and Development, in Personnel and Development and in Management. He also obtained his Master’s degree in Strategic Human Resource and became a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Jimmy launched Vianet Learning Limited in March 2010. It soon became the UK’s leading independent online learning resource dedicated to developing sales practices and selling skills across the UK Motor Industry. Due to its success, the company now provides learning resources across many industries and disciplines with an ever-expanding course portfolio.
With a view to giving back to the community, Jimmy founded the charity the Global Educational Trust (GET) in 2012. GET promotes reading and education worldwide offering free learning and reading resources both at home and abroad. Amongst its many initiatives, in the UK GET provides free books through a nationwide network of “Free Book Shops” and donates resources to educational facilities and community groups. In deprived areas around the world, GET builds educational centers and orphanages offering educational facilities as well as providing bursaries to help students who couldn’t otherwise afford it, to further their education.
